Spiel der Blicke

2021, wool and textiles, various sizes

Spiel der Blicke is a series of works created using fabric waste from the Italian wool factory Lanificio Paoletti. The use of discarded industrial materials situates the work within a dialogue between artistic practice and systems of production.
The series originated after a move, when, having no curtains yet, I temporarily covered the window with a scarf taped to the glass. This improvised solution became the starting point for reflecting on fabric as both a functional and symbolic element within domestic and social spaces.
The works reflect on the role of the artist within the social fabric, both literally and metaphorically, questioning processes of value, visibility, and transformation. By reworking remnants of industrial production, they explore how meaning can be generated through attention, reuse, and recontextualization.

Spiel der Blicke was exhibited in Vienna as part of the bi-personal exhibition TAPE.
